Sheboygan County Food Bank

We’re excited to share a big win for children in Sheboygan County. Including a generous $100,000 match provided by Black Spring Foundation, our third annual Fund Food for Thought crowdfunding campaign rallied the community to raise a grand total of over $215,000 from 135 donors. The funds from the eight-week-long campaign will ensure 650 slots will be open to students within Sheboygan County for enrollment in our Food for Thought for Kids program this upcoming school year – a 30% increase from the number of slots utilized during the 2024-25 school year.

Each year, Fund Food for Thought is helping us continue to grow the program to support even more children. We partner with 29 local schools throughout the county and depend on teachers, counselors, principals, and volunteers to help us make sure kids at risk to experience hunger on weekends get a bag filled with 10 nutritious food items at the end of each school week. This effort fills the critical gap between federally-funded school meal programs and FoodShare (Food Stamps) so that children can grow and thrive.

We share our gratitude for key partnerships that led to the campaign’s success. Black Spring Foundation’s extraordinary match likely motivated people to double their impact by donating and giving larger gifts. The local full-service experiential marketing agency, FifthColor, amplified our message by generously providing videos, photos, print and digital assets, and a powerful media campaign to help us reach more potential donors. And in a remarkable finish, our friends at Making Spirits Bright donated $50,000 from their past event proceeds to send us soaring past our $100,000 goal at the end.

It’s truly special how, time and time again, our community continues to show up with heart, compassion, and dedication. We’re thankful for each and every person who joined the movement by contributing and spreading the word.
