Mark your calendars—Saturday, May 10th is your chance to make a big impact with a simple act of kindness. The Stamp Out Hunger food drive is back, and Sheboygan County Food Bank is aiming high with a goal to collect 35,000 pounds of food.
This is the largest single-day food drive in the country, powered by mail carriers, volunteers, and generous neighbors like you. All you have to do? Leave a bag of non-perishable food items next to your mailbox before your mail arrives on May 10th.
Donations from this event help stock shelves during the summer months at our Sheboygan Cares Food Pantry, Community Cafe, and over 40 partner organizations throughout the county. That means your cereal box or can of tuna could end up in the hands of a local child or senior who really needs it.
Our current most-needed items include:
- Cereal and oatmeal
- Canned soup, tuna, and chicken
- Canned fruit
- Pasta and pasta sauce
- Personal care items
Purchasing these items ahead of the food drive helps avoid the collection of expired items.
If for some reason your donation isn’t picked up, no worries. You can always drop it off at our warehouse (3115 N. 21 Street, Door C, Sheboygan) Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 3 PM.
Want to do more? We’re still looking for helping hands to make this food drive a success. Throughout the day, pairs of volunteers drive their personal vehicles and help our local letter carriers pick up donations along their routes. Sign up to volunteer here.
Let’s come together to make sure no one in Sheboygan County goes hungry. Donate. Volunteer. Spread the word. Let’s Stamp Out Hunger, Sheboygan!
