SUMMARY:Making Spirits Bright
DESCRIPTION:Since 2012\, Sheboygan County Rotary Clubs have been coordinating Making Spirits Bright\, a holiday lights show event that’s Sheboygan County Food Bank’s largest annual food drive. Visitors drive their vehicles through the 1.1 mile forested route of Evergreen Park to experience light displays choreographed to music. Admission to the park is free of charge\, but donating nutritious food items is highly encouraged. Across the street on Fridays and Saturdays\, visitors can also enjoy trolley rides\, visits with Santa\, wreath raffles\, entertainment and concessions across the street at Santa’s Station (Quarryview Center). Making Spirits Bright is open every night November 28 – December 31 from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM (closed on Dec. 24). \nIf you’re planning on driving through\, please consider purchasing and donating the items listed below to help avoid the collection of expired food\, provide items that are most requested by our partner food pantries\, and make sure our neighbors receive safe and nutritious food. Low-sodium\, low-sugar\, and light-syrup food items are preferred when possible. \n\npeanut butter\ncanned soup\ncanned tuna and canned chicken\ncereal and oatmeal\ncanned fruit\npersonal care items (shampoo\, conditioner\, toothpaste\, deodorant\, feminine products\, etc.)\n\nOver 1.2 MILLION pounds of donations have been collected since the event started! DESCRIPTION:The National Association of Letter Carriers’ annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive is the largest single-day food drive in the country! Residents are invited to place non-perishable food items next to their mailboxes the morning of Saturday\, May 10. Mail carriers will collect the donations while they are out on their assigned routes. \nSheboygan County Food Bank receives donations from Sheboygan\, Howards Grove\, and Kohler\, helping supply food during the summer months for our Sheboygan Cares Food Pantry\, Herb Kohler & Natalie Black Community and 40 partner organizations that all support local families facing hunger. \nHelp us reach our goal this year is to collect 35\,000 pounds of donations. Our current most needed items are: \n\nCereal/oatmeal\nCanned soup\nCanned tuna/chicken\nCanned fruit\nPasta\nPasta sauce\nPersonal care items.\n\nBe a Part of the Big Day\nDonate \n1. Purchase non-perishable food items from our current most needed items list above to ensure your donation is not expired.\n2. Place the food items in a bag inside or next to your mailbox prior to your mail carrier’s arrival in the morning.\n3. Let your mail carrier and us handle the rest! When visiting Making Spirits Bright\, please consider purchasing and donating the items listed below to help avoid the collection of expired food and provide Sheboygan County Food Bank’s most needed items. The Plymouth Advancement Association is presenting a tribute to the strength of every resident in Sheboygan County and a benefit to support Sheboygan County Food Bank and Elkhart Lake & Plymouth Volunteer Fire Departments. \nEVENT DETAILS:\n\nAttendance will be limited and sold in advance only.\nEntry is $20 per vehicle\, available by advance purchase only.\nMain Gate (located off of Highway 67) will open at 7 p.m.\nNo personal fireworks or sparklers allowed.\nCamping onsite is available.\nFireworks will begin after dusk.\nWatch from your car\, van\, or truck; blankets and lawn chairs allowed outside of designated parking areas only.\nPrint your tickets at home to have them scanned at the gates for contactless entry.\nRoad America’s Paddock Shop will be open while offering special Fourth of July novelties.\nConcessions will be available.\nRain Date Sunday\, July 5\, 2020\n\nONSITE SPACE LIMITED\, ROAD AMERICA ENCOURAGES EVERYONE TO ACT FAST AND RESERVE TICKETS EARLY.\nIMPORTANT:\nEveryone is encouraged to follow safe practices at Road America during the show and treat the event with the respect\, such as social distancing (maintaining six feet from others)\, frequent hand washing\, or using one of the many new sanitizer stations located throughout the facility. DESCRIPTION:Be a part of the largest single-day food drive in the country!  The annual National Association of Letters Carriers’ annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is our second biggest community-wide food drive. Prior to mail carriers’ arrival on Saturday\, May 9th\, residents can place non-perishable food items next to their mailboxes. Mail carriers collect and deliver those items to a local food bank\, or food pantry. Sheboygan County Food Bank receives donations from Sheboygan\, Howards Grove\, and Kohler\, and relies heavily on these donations to help supply emergency food to partner agencies in the summer months.  \n\n\n\n\n\nFood Donation Tips\n\nPurchase healthy\, non-perishable food items before Saturday\, May 9th to ensure your donation is not expired.\nPlace the food items in a bag next to your mailbox prior to your letter carrier’s arrival on May 9th.\nLet your mail carrier and us handle the rest! With your mail carrier’s help\, we will make sure your donation gets to our warehouse safely and out to our partner agencies who serve our neighbors in need.\n\nVolunteer Opportunities\nWould you like to make a difference in our community? Stop by “Santa’s Workshop” tent next to the Quarryview Center for family-friendly activities and refreshments and then join us for the after party and award ceremony down the road at 3 Sheeps Brewing! DESCRIPTION:Our friends at WLKN – Lake 98.1 are presenting Deuces Wild! Dueling Pianos! Deuces Wild! Dueling Pianos has been bringing the roof down across the Midwest for twelve plus years. It’s a clap along\, sing along musical comedy show where the audience is always a part of the action and no one does it better than Dave & Ted from Deuces Wild. Group toasts\, good-natured ribbing of individual audience members put briefly under the glare of spotlights\, and the firm yet gentle recruitment of reluctant show participants add to the camaraderie that develops during a Deuces Wild! performance. \nBy attending this year’s show\, you’re not only getting a night of laughter\, fun and great music\, but you are also helping the Sheboygan community!
